As their name implies, humans cannot live without a certain minimum intake of Essential Oils. These are Omega-3, -6, -9, and -12 oils. The Western diet is fairly adequate in the Omega-12 and -9 oils, but partially lacking in Omega-6 and severely lacking in Omega-3 oils. In trying to reduce obesity and high cholesterol levels, we have "thrown the baby out with the bath-water" when we have limited these "good fats" along with the saturated and hydrogenated fats.
Therefore, most of us need to increase our intake of essential oils, esp. Omega-3 oils. These include: Fish oils, and oily fish, like salmon, mackerel, tuna-in-oil, sardines-in-oil, etc.; Flax-seed, borage and evening primrose oils; Avocadoes, and nuts. A total of one tablespoons or three capsules of all of these oils, combined, twice daily, should do the trick. Some of these oils can be used as salad dressing, instead of olive or canola oil, or on whole-grain breads or baked potato, instead of butter. They can be used to moisten any dried-out foods such as whole-grain rice or rice-cakes
The symptoms you can expect to see disappear by doing this are: Dry, itchy, flaky skin, and chapped lips; dry eyes and mucous membranes; hair-loss; fatigue; immune deficiencies; and recurrent infections, including candida yeast overgrowth.
